have the average state of health of a toddler. She has been diagnosed
with a hormone disorder called Precocious Puberty. What this means is
that this little girl will prematurely sexually mature unless she receives
treatment. Currently, she is receiving an injection of a drug called Decapetyl
at the cost of approximately $350.00 per month. Her parents have made
the decision to continue the injections until she reaches the age of 10,
after which time, she would be at a proper age to start puberty. As you
can imagine, this is quite a financial burden on the family, as her treatment
through age 10 will cost approximately $40,000.
